magnolia

Last spring we had freezing rain and our magnolia tree never bloomed. The buds are so pretty now. It won't be long before they finally bloom again.

Thanks to my energetic "boomerang" bookclub, I'm reading Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray. After reading 170 pages I had to go back and make a family tree of the characters so that I could keep them all straight. The book is making more sense now. Only 555 pages to go. I figure this is keeping my mind young. I hope.

Grace and peace,

Jane

I love magnolias! I grew up with them around in the South . . . that and azaleas. Both of those are among my favorite spring flowers!

Vanity Fair is interesting . . . it's a sad story, though.
