dogwood

Then they asked Him,
"What must we do to do the works God requires?"
Jesus answered,
"The work of God is this:
to believe in the one He has sent."
John 6:28-29

green onion

The other day I taped a green onion to my window to try to get some green pictures. Ok...I was desperate and bored. It didn't work out very well and it was kinda stinky and slimey and now my window is dirty.

another iceberg photo

Since winter hasn't left us, I decided to post another iceberg photo. Last night Mike and I spent some time planning our vegetable garden. We're hoping to start some seeds soon in our basement. Looking forward.

lavender

We're supposed to get snow tonight. So, to cheer myself up I spent a little time today looking at pictures from the summer. This lavender is from July 3. I can almost smell it.

"Our lives are lived well only when they are lived on the terms of their creation, with God loving and us being loved, with God making and us being made, with God revealing and us understanding, with God commanding and us responding."

big red

Yesterday we went to Holland, picked up my Mom and went to see the icebergs on Lake Michigan. They are something to behold. We walked out on them and soaked in the beauty and warmth. I love the beach even in the winter.

bread

I enjoy having adult children. They often inspire me with their interests, ideas and passion. Brooks' presence at home this past Christmas meant we got to eat various kinds of bread he baked. Which has inspired me to want to learn to bake bread. I have made several attempts and this loaf I made yesterday was the best so far.

berries by church

"Only in the context of grace can we face our sin; only in the place of healing do we dare to show our wounds; only with a single-minded attention to Christ can we give up our clinging fears and face our own true nature."

scarf i'm knitting

Last night we hosted a superbowl party with the church youth group. Lots of laughing and fun. At one point during the 3rd quarter, only the adults were watching the game. All the kids were around the dining room table playing a game. A game involving a dictionary! I don't know what this means for the future of the NFL.

We made it to February!
Happy Groundhog Day.
