forsythia

I finally did find some forsythia branches to force into bloom. It only took a few days inside. I noticed today that the forsythia outside are almost ready. I do love to say forsythia...

witch hazel

I may be running out of words for this blog. I think I'm quite predictable with the seasons and what I would share about each plant. This is the third spring of my blog and therefore the third picture of the witch hazel in my Mom's front yard....

kale

A few days ago, I planted some kale seeds and we put them under grow lights in our basement. I keep checking them even though I know it takes more than a day for two for them to sprout. Anticipation..... (This is a picture of a kale leaf from Meijer.)

artichoke

Chef Angus peeled an artichoke during a seminar at the home and garden show last week. I am so intrigued that I purchased two artichokes today. I just need to see what it's like and how it tastes. Does it taste any different than from the can? Inquiring minds want to know. The home and garden show is another sign of spring......

katsura pods

We have two Katsura trees in our backyard. Before the leaves come out, the seed pods fall off the branches. A sure sign that spring is on it's way.
