Let the morning bring me word
of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.

bittersweet

If I were Oprah and I was doing the show about my favorite things, I would have my bittersweet pottery by local artist Betsy Ratzsch. I have been collecting it for quite a few years. The last time I was in her studio, she told me about some bittersweet growing down the road. It looks like these berries are ready to be replaced by spring leaves.

witchhazel

The very first photo posted on my blog was of witchhazel. I hadn't heard of it before my Mom received a bush from a friend in memory of my Dad. They bloom so early I can't believe I hadn't noticed them before. Yesterday I found some at Jamie's house (in a vase on the table) and I snagged/stole a (small) branch. Thanks Lydia. The flowers remind me of coconut.

crocus

This crocus is coming up between our patio bricks.

For the Lord your God is bringing you
into a good land -
a land with streams and pools of water,
with springs flowing in the valleys and hills;
a land with wheat and barley,
vines and fig trees,
pomegranates,
olive oil and honey...
Deuteronomy 8:7-8

not sure

I'm not sure what this flower is, but Mike bought this plant for me at the garden show. Thank you for your nice comments about the one year anniversary of my blog. Abbey won the set of note cards. I have figured out who you are so I'll get them to you.

Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul
and healing to the bones.
Prov. 16:24

fungus

I took this picture of some fungus on a tree in my yard. I'm trying to learn new programs on my new computer and I'm happy that I could figure out how to get it off my card, onto the computer, and onto this blog. yippee!

crocuses

The tips of these crocuses are coming out of the soil in my back yard. It's not much, but it's something.

As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease.
Genesis 8:22
